Normie Rowe – “Bold As Brass”

w/ Danny Robinson’s Wild Cherries

Australia’s most iconic talent for the past 50 years is undoubtedly the amazing Normie Rowe.

On a musical journey over 5 successful decades, Normie has constantly kept abreast of the music of the day, whilst still maintaining the profile that saw him take all before him in the 60s and 70s. Normie maintains a tour structure each year that is the envy of many.

“Bold As Brass” was born upon Normie’s return from the UK with two Top 20 singles there to build on. His intention was to return with an extended band line-up, similar to what Chris Farlowe, Gino Washington and Otis Redding were presenting at live shows. The Playboys, plus brass and backing vocals.

His early influences and recordings had leaned to soul covers of Marvin Gaye, Chuck Jackson and others. A four track EP titled “Bold As Brass” will be released in mid-October featuring brass and backing vocals. Two of the four tracks were written by Don Walker, one by Sam See and the final one is a classic 60s soul cover. This will be Normie’s fifth EP, 47 years after the last one.

Special guests on this great show are the legendary “Danny Robinson’s Wild Cherries”, completing an action packed show.
