Melbourne Cup Eve Show
w/ Little Bastard

Melbourne’s Wagons, known for their dynamic and unpredictable live show, are bringing their ever-engaging 70’s inspired boogie outlaw rock to Yarraville for the first time this Cup Eve. Fresh from a sold-out Corner show in June, and with work underway on a new album with Mick Harvey (Bad Seeds fame) at the helm, the boys will be armed with a bunch of new tunes and ready to entertain.

Led by Henry Wagons’ rare charisma along with their uncommon range of influences including jump suit era Elvis, the grit between the floorboards at the Ole’ Opry, the spit in 70’s trumpet sections, Cormac MacCarthy’s psychedelic Westerns and Lee Hazlewood’s dead but potent stares its safe to say their live show is a performance like no other. Wagons look forward to celebrating cup eve with you over several drinks and some loud rollicking.

*Please note, attendance to the gig will all but guarantee a significant victory in the Melbourne Cup quadrella the following day.

“Wagons’ poppy, soulful cow-punk is as clever as it is swagerrific”
**** ‘Now Album Of The Week’ Toronto

“Wagons are kinda Rock a Billy, kinda Alt-Country, kinda Indie, that’s what makes this CD so interesting….It got my attention quickly!”
